She would learn how to make things from her friends, like a rocking chair from wood clothespins, then teach us grandkids how to make them. She was such a patient teacher. I really miss that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8917186313370241936.post-58666200068946716952007-05-06T03:05:00.000-04:002007-05-06T03:05:00.000-04:00oh my... such great blog candy. thanks for sharing...oh my... such great blog candy. thanks for sharing! :)Lilianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15274417696846884347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8917186313370241936.post-82779521868054985312007-05-05T23:58:00.000-04:002007-05-05T23:58:00.000-04:00OH! We would take them back to the house and she would get everything ready to make a pie (YUUUMMMY) I had my own cooking items too, a little aluminum pie tin, rolling pin and everything. Grandma always use to use the extra crust and roll it out and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar, bake them OMG was that ever good. We would have vanilla ice cream with the pie............Oh how I miss my grandma, it just doesn't seem possible that she has been gone for almost 14 years. Thanks for the memories. Awesome blog candy too!!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00814883002407886140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8917186313370241936.post-28470675439741586142007-05-05T14:20:00.000-04:002007-05-05T14:20:00.000-04:00We had a wonderful "Nanna"!! She would have all four of us over for the week-end, took us all to the beach for a month, and lots of other great adventures. I see all those wonderful traits in my own daughter (who is now a grandmother) and she never even knew Nanna; unfortunately Nanna died just a month before my daughter was born, so she never had the chance to be a great-grandmother - aren't I lucky that I am one (to four great youngsters)!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8917186313370241936.post-19627409863936119422007-05-05T09:17:00.000-04:002007-05-05T09:17:00.000-04:00Sounds like a fun trip! I was into M's and fell in love with the glitter - so many pretty, twinkly colours....

I have so many happy memories of my grandmother, but one that sticks out is when she invited me out to visit during Reading Week during my second year of university. It was a tough slog that year and I was getting stressed out between courses and my job. Reading Week fell during the middle of February, a pretty bleak time of year in Edmonton. It was a wonderful thing to visit my grandparents in Victoria, where spring had sprung and daffodils bloomed and I came home rested and rejuvenated. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8917186313370241936.post-65258270097621970062007-05-05T09:05:00.000-04:002007-05-05T09:05:00.000-04:00Love the candy.
