Double Happy Mail

I feel special. Today not only did I get 1 extra special card from my DDSS but I got 2 !!!!! Funny thing is, they were postmarked days apart. I don't know what's going on with the mail these days.. This first card is PHENOMENAL... I love the chocolates together with pink, blue or green.

Check out the 2nd card... Isn't is just beautiful. A perfect springy card when the snow's falling outside. Gives us all something to look forward to.

Wow.. Keep the comments coming !!

Hi there everyone. I love all of your comments and suggestions. Thanks to Adelle I was able to already add 2 suggestions to my blog. If you notice, you don't need to subscribe to a blog in order to be able to leave a comment. I've opened this up to everyone. And, check out the subscription link I've added off to the left. Without these suggestions I would have never known how to do either of these. Thanks everyone !!!!

How about a little CANDY ????

I've only been blogging for a couple weeks now and I feel like a fish out of water. This is a whole new experience for me.. So.. I think it's time for a little blog candy. It's very simple. All you need to do is post a comment to "THIS" post. If your a blogger I'd love to know if you have any helpful hints, what you may have found most helpful when you first started your blog etc. If you do not have your own blog, I'd love hear your comments.. (please be kind, I'm very new at this.. LOL) On Sunday March 4th at 6 PM (EST) I will be drawing a winner from all of the comments posted. The winner will receive.. The latest issue of Paper Crafts Gourmet, A new unmounted "Gently Falling" stamp set, a tooth fairy tin and a brand new container of Brazzill Wings " (1.5" blossoms in the color Arroyo). Good Luck..

Also, if your a blogger I'd love to check out your blog. Please feel free to post your site in your comment..

We've been stampin'

Well, I've finally gotten myself upstairs and did a little stamping. I had a workshop on Friday where we played with my favorite cuttlebug. This first card was inspired by 'arcope's card on SCS. This makes for an elegant wedding or anniversary card.

This 2nd card was inspired by 'dawnl's on SCS. I used white and bordering blue for the background. Embossed the blue with the stylized flowers from Cuttlebug. White was again used for the insert with the Happy Harmony SAB set. Bordering Blue was used for the flower and words, and the old olive marker for the stem. A green ribbon was added because I just can't get enough ribbon...

For our 3rd card I used tempting turquoise, pink passion and white cardstock with misc. decorative paper for the accent. The stamp set is "Big Blossom" from the new spring mini catalog. I love this set. It's so versatile. For the words I used the Happy Everything stamp set and stamped them again in the black classic ink.

Our 4th and final card was my absolute favorite. I fell in love the the 'au chocolate paper' in the new Spring mini. My DSS turned me onto 'glitter' with a 2 way glue pen so I added a little bling bling of glitter to the petals of the 'doodle this' flower. If I have to pick just 1 favorite stamp set from the new spring mini it will have to be DOODLE THIS.. I love it. It's a little hard to read but 'happiness' is stamped in chocolate chip in the bottom right corner of the card.

We have finally plowed and shoveled our way out, took some of the snow off the roof and said "I'm DONE !!!" Where is spring? Unfortunately, this has not left much extra time for stamping.. so, Hi ho, Hi ho it's off to stamp I go... PS.. Yes, the snow on the deck was taller than Carter !!!

Don't you hate it when your husband buys you tires?

Well, so it's not exactly tires but it sure feels like it. I've been dying to buy a new entertainment center, dining room table and chairs and a buffet. I know exactly what I want. So my hubby and I went off to the furniture store on Saturday. I finally picked out an entertainment center (figured we'd start there, I hate paying out those big bucks for new furniture...) and while were standing there waiting to pay he say... And I quote... "Oh by the way, that's your Valentines Day present".. UGH.. So of course I said.. "That's just your way of getting out of having to shop ya lug"... So now, no pretty roses, no chocolates.. and I bet you we won't even go out to dinner (darn mother nature has our first big snow storm planned for the season).. So in a round about sort of way.. I think I got 'tires' for Valentines day... LOL

Happy Valentines Day to me..

I've been spoiled yet again by my DSS... Saturday was a very busy day. My hubby and I went shopping for a new entertainment center, got home, put it together and while by darling hubby (DH) was fumbling with the instructions, I got to sit and ready Happy Mail from my DSS... I received this beautiful card using So Very (a Sell-a-Bration stamp set), hearts candy, a lollipop with holder and WOO HOO... A 2 way glue pen and glitter. I can't wait to play. Thank you sis :) Happy Early Valentines Day !!!!

My 2 secret sisters...

I am thrilled with my 2 new secret sisters from SCS. My first secret sister (currently located in Arizonia, or at least that is the post mark... LOL) is my DDSS otherwise known as my Dabbling Demo Secret Sister. Round 7 just started February 1st and look what I've already received.. This is my favorite style. That 'shabby chic', old world, antique look. What a fabulous job she did. I'm feeling very spoiled.

My other secret sister is a 'Devine Secret Sibling'. This group began in January and I've already received 3 beautiful cards from her. Can you tell I love florals? This was my first card from her.

This was the 2nd card from my DSS... The colors are gorgeous. My 3rd card my mother loved so, I let her take it. That was my favorite of the 3. Lots of glitter.. I must admit.. I like the bling bling.

Superbowl XLI pre-game workshop

Wow, Friday night was such a blast. Heck, if our men can watch the Superbowl on Sunday, we can stamp on Friday... As luck would have it, mother nature was not on my side. She decided to finally (yep on February 2nd) give us our first real snowstorm of the year. That's ok.. We stamped our way through the whole 3 inches. Two stampers needed to cancel, so at the last minute I called my friend from down the street who had never stamped before to come and join us. SHE LOVED IT... I 'cased' this idea from onecreativechica on "SCS". It was so easy to do.

This was our 2nd card using the new 'pocket notes' from the winter mini catalog. I just love how they make card making simple and easy.. Half the work is already done for you.

This was our 3rd card for the evening. Don't you just love these colors? Cool Caribbean, Black, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.

And our final card of the evening.. This was my ultimate favorite for 2 reasons.. First I have to say that when the winter mini catalog first came out I hated 'carte postale'. I had no use for it, didn't like it, wouldn't waste my money on it.. Well was I wrong, there I admitted it... I WAS WRONG.. I LOVE this stamp set. I use it so much. It makes the most elegant 'shabby chic' style cards. With the very vanilla craft ink it gives it that 'old world' feel. Secondly, it uses my favorite gadget the Cuttlebug by Provocraft.. (We'll get into the Cuttlebug at another time). Add a little chocolate chip craft ink to a sponge, give it a run and vio'la look what you have. A beautiful inky experience.

I've taken the leap of faith...

For months I've been perusing through the different blog sites of my fellow stampers, posted a few threads on my favorite "Splitcoaststampers" to help me decide should I or should I not blog. And well, here I am.... taking the leap of faith and entering the world of the blog. Heck, if my mother can learn to operate a microwave oven when they first came out (were still working on the whole computer thing for her... maybe someday she'll actually have email), I think I'll be able to handle this. I'm sure that they'll probably never be a earth-shattering mind-boggling event happening here you can all share my 'inky' experiences with me.
