Baby Liam

Hellllllllllllllllooooo.... and happy Wednesday. As usual the weather here is pretty frightful. It snowed most of the night so schools are closed. DH got called into work at 5 AM so he's going to be pretty tired by the time he gets home. The good news is....... I'm feeling better. I have good days and bad day and yipee.... today is a GOOD DAY !!!!!

I love to stamp when it's snowing. It's just so peaceful in my stamp room..... So last night while the DH was getting his snowblower ready, putting his plow on the truck, checking his list and checking it twice, I snuck upstairs. A friend from work is in the process of adopting a beautiful baby boy from Kazakhstan. He is the most adorable baby boy with huge brown eye and the biggest cheeks you'd ever want to squeeze... .Part of the adoption process is that you come home for 2 weeks (after being there for 26 days bonding with your new child) and then after 2 weeks, you go and meet your child and bring him home. During the 2 weeks she's home were having a surprise baby shower for her at work. Liam is 8 months old so besides an adorable Izod outfit I wanted to make him something extra special..... So here goes...
I was never able to find out if she had decided on colors for his bedroom so I went with a pretty neutral 'boyish' pallete.... For the background paper I used Western Sky SUP DS paper. The name pieces are stacked on Ruby Red, Soft Sky and Whisper White card stock. As usual, my rub-on letters are from Wal-mart... I love how they came out. For the train, SUP Circus Train images were stamped on Whisper White card stock using black stazon and were colored in shades of blues, green, grey, maroon, olive, yellow, pink and browns using my Copic markers. The train pieces I cut out, stamped them with versa mark and then embossed them with Glassy Glaze enamel. This gives them a little extra thickness. When I applied them to the soft sky card stock I popped them up a bit using my pop up glue dots.... Now hmm... how was I going to make this whole piece look like a train? I added the antique brass eyelets to the bottom corners of each piece and then ran natural hemp twine through so they are all hooked together. For the final tough at the bottom of the page, I applied 2 large antique brass eyelets to each side of the page and ran 6 pieces of the natural hemp twine through them. It almost looks like train tracks.

Today because school is out my niece is coming over to make Valentine cards.... This should be a blast.. And the extra company for me is nice too....

Happy Stamping :)
