Original Post:

Tick Tock Tick Tock.... as the seconds pass by I'm getting closer and closer to the Big Day.. I decided yesterday to take a little time off from work that weekend to 'hide under the covers' and made it a 4 day weekend... LOL .. No not really, just to celebrate and relax.

So how should we celebrate this week..... How about a $10 gift certificate to yet another one of my favorite places to shop.. Papertreyink.... And just in time for their new release Friday at 12 AM... go check this out !!!!

So what do you need to do to win this week... How about posting a copy of your favorite birthday card (please feel free to go ahead and post the link if that works better for you !!) ... and, as a little extra bonus, if you refer people over here to my candy, I'll give you an extra chance to win :) You'll have until 11:59 PM Monday the 18th to comment and I'll draw the winner's name Tuesday morning.. Good luck everyone and I can't wait to see those cards !!!

Am I the first to post a comment? Wow, that's a first for me! lol :) I'm not a big one for super traditional birthday cards, I tend to usually make something just happy or cheery looking, so this is why I love this card that Gina K (of Gina K Designs) made. I call it a "Wish for Retail Therapy on your Birthday!" How's that? lol :)

Here's the link:

I hope the link works! lol :)

Have a great day!

Hugs,
Julie

I just made two cards last night and they're in the envelopes already, so I will have to snap a new picture of something I make tonight :) Ilove flower cards because they're so easy to make and that's what you'll see :)

I was in the fairly early stages of my card making addiction when I made this card for a friend's 50th birthday. She lives in California and frequents the orchards, being a wine "snob." :) I did a search for wine labels from California wineries, scrunched the printout, stained it with walnut stain and used some of my grape stamps to create this for her. She loved it. I look at it now and think I would do things a little differently. You know how that is. LOL!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! A tough decision to choose between a couple of them that I REALLY like...I ended up chosing this one b/c it's easy for people to replicate (I've seen it cased!) =)
Hope you have a GREAT day!

I don't make/send many birthday cards. This card is one that I made for my two nieces this year for their birthdays. I usually give them the same card (ages 24 & 28) so there is no favoritism. lol

This is a card I made out of the Polka Dots and Paisley set- which I love and got from a dear friend in a trade. I love the birthday sentiment as well. "Life is not a matter of counting years, but making years count"
Happy Birthday and thanks for sharing your love of crafting- my blog is http://significanceinsimplethings.blogspot.com/

This is probably the favorite one I've ever made. I just fell in love with the ribbon and wanted to make sure that it would shine.

Sorry my scanner is not working so I can't download a photo. But I will always remember my 9TH birthday. I was on a local TV show that featured Popeye cartoons and between cartoons would come back to a Captain and group of kids. Because it was my birthday, the Captain let me be the one that made all the announcement. I enjoyed my 15 minutes of fame:) LindaSue

I usually have to share a birthday with my husband and my sister because our birthdays fall the same week. I went on a ski vacation with a close friend for one of my birthdays. This one stands out as my favorite b-day of all time!

I have a rather gory story of my 11th birthday. I thought it was really cool at the time, but I look back and it now makes me cringe. My birthday fell on the same day as my dear Aunt Rosie's funeral. So since my family already had a limo rented for the funeral, they picked me and my party-goers up in the limo and we rode all over town celebrating my birthday right after the funeral. YIKES.
